Master Bedroom

We recently set up a little photo shoot in our bedroom.  Our Bedroom has become my favorite room in the house, full of light and color.  It gets the perfect amount of light for pictures and lifting one’s spirits.

My favorite piece of art seen here, use to be in the living room but I moved it here to the bedroom, added a pink tissue paper flower to draw out the pink of the Turkish rug, a family photo and then an ancient church key that I found here in Southeast Turkey.  The twine wrapped jars and yarn flowers on the right were made by and remind me of my sweet friend Tiffany.  I enjoy many a sweet moment with Jesus in this room!

 Now for the Photo shoot:

Me and my Quiver full! How blessed I am!!!!

Can they Get any cuter?  Especially those yummy little piggies!

And the photo that is most descriptive of our normal state:

Papa Bear, baby bear and the cubs

Master and Beyond

Master Bedroom: the most unfurnished room of the house, but I love the wall color!!!

One squatty potty turned into a Laundry room thanks to a friends suggestion!  The washer and dryer sit on top of the squatty. I hung a shower rod across the room to hang clothes that need to be ironed up.  Our our cleaning supplies can be shut away.  I am thankful.

Second squatty potty - also Hudson's current potty-training place :)

The main bathroom. We were able to have a bathtub put in for the kids.

 Hallway

Entry way: we are thankful this house came with lots of storage cabinets

Well, hope you enjoyed our home tour.  It is a work in progress but it has been a thrill making it into our little haven.  We always have room for visitors so stop by sometime! :)

Our Patio

our little outdoor breakfast/dinner nook. Just need to get some privacy trees before neighbors move in that house next door.
View from the left side of our balcony

Our little make shift bird watching station: bird bath made out of a planter tray and bowl of seeds, so far only Doves visiting.

Our Salon

The ten-seater dining table that still is not large enough for all our visitors :)  That's pretty awesome when a ten-seater table isn't big enough to host your friends....that means you are blessed with many guests!  Now if only I can learn how to cook to their taste....that is a work in progress!

 Living room area

It's kind of hiding but behind the couch is a little nook where Kenny's work desk is and a book shelve will be placed down the road.  And I am so proud of him for keeping his desk so clean all the time, that is something he does to bless my heart!

Blessed, Queen Mother

What's Cooking?

This is our kitchen and the island we had built.  We are thrilled to have the extra counter and storage space.  We will have bar height chairs coming for informal dining, snack space, play-doh space, helping mom cook etc.... In working with the builders we learned many lessons on communicating in another language and culture.  I had to lay aside my american mentality a ton and probably should have more.  I think my old kitchen used to be the size of the island itself....thankful for more work space! Sure makes hosting the oodles of people that pass through our house easier.  I even had space to make a drawer just for tea items :)  so now when you visit my house you can enjoy a delightful cup of tea made to order!  See doesn't that make you want to hop a plane over?!  We'll be waiting!

Living/Dining room to come tomorrow....

Our Center for learning

As everything in our house, our classroom is still a work in progress but I am so blessed and so thankful to have a place I can make into our center for learning.  I am a scatterbrain so an organized environment is vital for me to function and stay on task.  This room is a gift from God to us...mostly a gift to me...it is my favorite room in the house.
Can you believe I found this english continent rug in the middle of Asia?!  I couldn't and it was a steal of a deal.... just another gift from God to me.  The kids hop from continent to continent everyday as I sing the Continent song that my friend Kari taught me.  We also have calendar time and reading time on this rug.  In the back right corner we have our language development shelves.  We are learning to read and write right now.  On the left edge of the screen is the shelf with our geometric solids, metal insets for writing preparation, our world puzzles, knobless cylinders, peg puzzles, pink tower, brown stairs and geometric shapes.
In the back right is our math shelf and Samara's desk under the window
In the back left corner is our art shelf with free reign to creating!  I have quite a few artists on my hands who can turn out a number of masterpieces and this is only the beginning.... It appears that the creative genes from Nanny continue to be passed along.

This room is right off of our kitchen stay tuned tomorrow for the kitchen and the custom built island.

Sugar and Spice

Stop and take a rest over in our nest....
This is where my little girls read, sing, dance and sleep
I saw this little nook and thought it would be perfect for a mirror and ballet bar where dress ups can hang,  dancing can happen and imaginations can run wild..... (mirror to come later - thankful we found a shower rod).
One of our little princesses LOVES to cook, she can be found cooking up all kinds of creative concoctions here.... in the evenings she helps in the real kitchen with delight!
And what little girls room would be complete without....Bows!
I still need to complete the middle picture but instead of drilling a bunch of holes in the wall to rehang the letters to their names, we opted for a few pictures I made with their first Letter.... we are learning our alphabet and sounds right now in preparation for reading so having their letter on the wall thrills them.

More of our nest revealed tomorrow!

Snakes, snails, puppy dog tails...

This is our little guy, affectionately known by the locals as "Tarzan" and I believe that is a rarely good description of him these days! What a joy and delight it is to have him in our life! His room is still a work in progress but several have been asking for pics so here is what we have set up so far.

This last pic is of Hudson and his new friend who watches him while we have language class in the other room.  This particular day he got to watch a diego show as his first week he was a little clingy adjusting to a new friend and his sisters not being around.  He has a totally different personality when his sisters are gone, he is calm, quiet, doesn't get into mischief...it is so funny to watch the transformation once his sisters come home.  We are thankful for our new friend and the blessing she is to our family!

The girls room to come tomorrow!
